Mitochondrial Dynamics

Explore Holotomography application in mitochondrial research, highlighting its ability to provide detailed, noninvasive 3D imaging in real time and enable quantitative analysis of mitochondrial dynamics.

[Video] Quantitative Analysis of Mitochondrial Fission

  • In this experiment, mitochondrial fission events in Hep3B cells were monitored and captured at 6-sec intervals following the treatment with the mitochondrial dynamics modulator MPP+.
  • The HT-X1 Holotomography platform facilitates non-invasive, real-time 3D imaging of mitochondrial dynamics.
  • Acquired HT images were subsequently processed using TomoAnalysis software, employing the 'AI-based Mitochondria Length Analysis' pipeline for automatic segmentation of mitochondria and the generation of quantitative metrics for further assessment.

  • Drug-induced bias of mitochondrial dynamics could be resolved with quantitative analysis workflow based on the TomoAnalysis software.
  • This methodology facilitates undisturbed monitoring and analysis of mitochondria, which could advance accurate biomarker identification and understanding of disease mechanisms.
