RBC Analysis
1. Pipeline: (3D) RBC
This pipeline segments individual red blood cells (RBCs) in 3D using a rule-based approach optimized for their distinct biconcave shape and refractive index characteristics. It enables per-cell quantitative analysis, providing morphological and physical parameters such as volume, surface area, and mean RI for each RBC.
This pipeline is useful for assessing RBC quality by detecting shape abnormalities, size variation, or other morphological deviations under different physiological or experimental conditions.
Output: 3D masks for individual RBCs, Per-object quantitative measurements.
2. Pipeline: (2D) RBC
This pipeline segments individual red blood cells (RBCs) in 2D using a rule-based method adapted to their characteristic circular shape and refractive index profile. It provides per-cell quantitative measurements such as area, perimeter, and mean RI.
The pipeline is suitable for assessing RBC quality in 2D images by identifying morphological abnormalities or variations in size and shape across the sample.
Output: 2D masks for individual RBCs, Per-object quantitative measurements.
