Label-Free Phenotypic Profiling of Platelets Using Holotomography
Platelets are challenging to study due to their small size, rapid activation, and high sensitivity to chemical labels or staining. Holotomography images live platelets in 3D without any dyes, generating a comprehensive biophysical phenotype based on refractive index that is not achievable with conventional microscopy. This note shows how HT-based phenotyping can distinguish platelet states associated with genetic mutations and infectious disease.
